Lose Weight Naturally

AMAZING LEMON ROSE DETOX SOAK

Our feet carry the burden of our body weight, so we need to pay more attention to their health, in order to prevent varicose veins, cracked heels, fungal infections, and help our movements.
Foot soaks are an incredible way to destroy bacteria and fungi, relax the feet, ease the pain, and detoxify the system. Here is one effective, soothing foot soak you must try:
Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup of baking soda
  • 8 cups of water
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Sliced lemons & 1/8 cup dried rose petals (or any flower of choice)
Instructions:
Add baking soda to your foot basin, cover with warm water, and then squeeze in the juice of one lemon.
Then, just sink your feet in it, give it a little swish, and soak for about 20 minutes.
Then, take the feet out of the water, pat them dry with a towel, and using a brush or an exfoliating sponge, exfoliate them.
Baking soda is incredibly versatile, but when it comes to your feet, it can be a true miracle worker. It controls bad odor, destroys bacteria and fungus, treats the sough skin, and softens the skin.
On the other hand, the lemon will act as a potent astringent, preventing excessive sweating, and improving skin health. It will also leave a wonderful fresh scent.
Moreover, this foot soak will detoxify the entire body, since it will absorb all toxins and waste through the feet, and cleanse your system.
Advocates claim that a foot detox method can balance the pH levels of the body, improve mood, relieve stress, treat swellings, boost the immune system, destroy harmful microorganisms, help weight loss, and improve heart health.
Therefore, try this amazing relaxing foot soak and real all its health benefits!

A WORLD OF SMOOTHIES

In the world of smoothies, today it seems everywhere you look people are following the health trend of replacing meals with liquid concoction. The “green smoothie” was the first out the gate, with just the basic mix of kale, spinach, cucumber & apple.  Although it was nutritious for the body, many couldn't get past the bitter slimy taste & texture.

Nowadays, new products made for juicing & blending have made smoothie making rise to another level!  Using a variety of fruits and vegetables; paired with nuts, oils, protein powders & liquid sweeteners; one will never get bored drinking the same smoothie over and over again.

The more advanced creations of smoothies now are called “stacking”.  Stacking involves the individual layering of fruits and veggies combined with other additional toppings on top of each other, which comes out more like a masterpiece than a useful drink.
So if you are trying to lose some extra pounds or just want to get some more nutrition in your diet, the different combinations of the smoothie world are endless.  If you feel intimidated on where to start, my good friend Kim D. shared a beginner's chart for you. You can tweak these basic smoothie recipes to make your own perfect blend; just use your imagination and your tastebuds and get to blending!

FIT4LIFE (ARTICLE)

Why is it so hard to lose weight? Why is it that one person can eat anything & not gain any weight but I can gain weight, even when I try to eat healthy?  Why do I put the weight back on after I’ve lost it?
These questions are endless however the truth isn’t; so let’s be honest about the excuses we use, as to why we are failing to stay focused on our healthier selves.

How many times have you tried to diet but in secret gave in to late nights,  I’m bored or I’m depressed cravings; or went out with friends to a gathering and was told “Have fun, it’s only one day, you can have a cheat day”; then that one cheat day turned into 2 days then 5 days.

Or maybe you are the “I work out so I can eat whatever I want” type but get mad when you step on the scale and you’ve gained more weight;  you then give up saying that the diet plan didn’t work for you.
And you are right, no plan could ever work for you if your mindset isn’t in the right place for it to work!

Also, many may think there is a one-plan-fits-all miracle fat loss pill, drink, or drops, but this is not true. There are many products to aid in fat reduction to fit the needs of different body types.
You can use any additional supplement to an existing weight loss plan but it cannot be your main plan.
In all honesty, there are only two factors that are the biggest culprits preventing your weight loss, YOU & SUGAR!

First, let’s address you.  You have been programmed since childhood on your eating habits.  Many American families, for instance, grew up in the “clean your plate, don’t waste food era” or “have seconds you are skin & bones”; so you ate until you were stuffed.

This way of eating & many more have followed us over into adulthood where we go out to any restaurants of our choice or shop at the supermarkets for whatever our taste buds entice us to buy;  And who will stop YOU from eating that deep-fried catfish dinner with fries and a pint of ice cream?  NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE!

Why, because you are an adult, you go to work, make money and buy whatever you want to, right? That may be true, however, food has changed and the effects on the human body have become life-threatening in most cases.

If you are not committed to understanding & implementing a healthier nutritional lifestyle, then no diet recommendation will help.   Everyone has a  metabolic system that processes foods in different ways.  For instance, one person can eat any kind of bread, pasta, dairy or fruit but another can’t without getting bloated, having joint pains or an insulin spike with accompanying headaches.

One person can eat portions upon portions of a variety of foods and seem not to gain any weight; the other person can just look at a donut and gain 10 lbs.  You get the picture, right? So it takes you to figure out what your body needs & how much to survive daily.

It will take YOU to eliminate processed foods, fast-foods, and tone down some good-for-you foods as well, to finally lose the extra fat stored in your body.  This brings us to the second point on rebooting your body balance, Sugar.

Sugar, the second culprit is found in so many supermarket  & restaurant products.  It is very important to address eliminating these hidden sugar-laced products from our diet, so the body can recalibrate and restore the natural state of  “I’m hungry or I’m full “ signals.

Many people who are looking to lose weight only look at the surface foods that commonly contain sugar, such as cookies, cakes, soda, coffee creamers, and ice cream.  However, sugar is also found in most bread, pasta, yogurt, fruit juice, wheat crackers, diet drinks, milk, packed cocktail nuts, frozen meals (boxed-canned), alcohol, and processed meats, including deli meats.
We think that when a product states “healthy or low calorie”  it is perfect for our diet but on the flip side, it is laced with hidden sugars that can stop us dead in our tracks from slimming down.  Adding sugar to food is a way, for manufacturers to get us to come back and buy their products; sugar makes things taste good and it is highly addictive. It was found to have a higher effect on the brain than cocaine, making it almost nearly impossible to kick the sugar addiction.  So practice due diligence when buying products, starting the journey to rebooting your body balance.

Most people starting the reboot process go straight to replace a meal with a smoothie.  This can be a very tricky one because depending on where you get your smoothie from or how you prepare yourself, it can mean the difference of 200 calories /5 grams of sugar to almost 600 calories with tons of sugar.
Adding too much high glycemic fruit, fruit juice, ice cream, yogurt, agave or maple syrup can turn any “healthy” smoothie into an unhealthy one; causing no weight loss but instead weight gain.

PREPARATION
1.) In a large bowl, season shrimp with paprika, garlic powder, oregano, cumin, red pepper flakes, and salt. Toss gently to combine.

4.) Grill over high heat for 3 minutes, brush the top side with more olive oil, flip, and let cook for an additional 3 minutes. Remove from skewers & set aside for taco assembly.

5.) In a bowl, combine all creamy cilantro sauce ingredients. Stir well to combine.
